A solar regulator gathers energy from your solar panels, and stores it in your batteries. The SmartSolar maximises this energy harvest, using advanced tracking algorithms to achieve full charge in the shortest possible time. A solar regulator will maintain good battery health and extend its life. In some cases it can even recover a severely depleted battery!
The SmartSolar regulator can be programmed via Bluetooth for use with a wide variety of batteries, including lead-acid, lithium and many others.
MPPT: Ultra Fast Maximum Power Point Tracking.
By constantly monitoring the voltage and current output of your solar modules, MPPT technology ensures that all available power is harvested from the sun. The advantage of this is most noticeable when the sky is partially clouded, and light intensity is constantly changing. The MPPT technology can accept a high input solar voltage, will automatically detect the required 12-48V battery voltage and will manage the power conversion to ensure the batteries are appropriately charged.
Daisy-Chain Additional units Using the VE.CAN model regulators, multiple units may be daisy-chained together using a CAN-bus link. Regulators connected in this way will synchronise their charge stages. They may also be connected to a GX controller using a single RJ45 communications link. Remote Monitoring and Control.
The SmartSolar regulators come with Bluetooth which allow them to be paired with a smartphone and the VictronConnect App. The App may be used to view regulator, solar and battery info as well as offer full customisable programming of the regulator. If a GX controller is part of the system it may be connected to the internet and the Victron Remote Management Portal (VRM) which can provide remote access and control for the entire system. Optional SmartSolar Pluggable Display Adding the SmartSolar Pluggable Display provides a front-mounted screen to show regulator, solar and battery info. It may also be used to program and set-up the regulators.
